Flying in a KC 135

Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to fly in a KC 135 with the Ohio Air National Guard. The purpose of the trip was to expose the community to the guard and to witness a refueling of another aircraft in the air. Upon arrival, I was a little hestiate because I am not a huge fan of flying but it was an opporunity of a lifetime. I was able to sit in the cockpit with the headset on the way up. It was really neat listening to the pilots. Then I watched as a C 17 flown up to our plane to be refueled. We were over the skies of North Carolina. The boom operator controls the refueling. He allowed me to man the controls for a little bit. It was such a neat experience and I survived.
