Playdate with Kaleigh

Last Wednesday, I took the day off to spend some time with the kids. We decided to ask Cousin Kaleigh to join us. We first went to the Friendship Park in Gahanna and then to feed the ducks at Creekside. The kids ventured into the murky water and walked around on the rocks. We then went home so Preston can take a nap and then went back YMCA to go swimming. The kids had so much fun with Kaleigh and can't wait for her to spend the day with us again.

Swingset

One Friday, we headed up to Youngstown for the July 4th celebration with my family and to also take down a swingset that my uncle gave the kids. On Friday, we went to my aunts house and the kids played with their cousins. We also got to see a great firework display from a nearby house. Preston did get to see those but he didn't really seem interested. On Saturday, we headed over to my uncle's to take apart the swingset. It was an all day event and we finally arrived home at 8:30. Part of the swing set is up and the rest will be finished this weekend. The kids can't wait. Paige is already talking about how she is going to decorate the clubhouse.

Red, White, and Boom

Happy 4th of July. We along with my parents, The Baker family, and the Bonilla family decided to weather the storm and go down to red, white, and boom again this year. Since we can sit at City Hall in the gated area, we do not have to deal with all the crowds. It drizzled a little but it ended up being a nice cool night. The kids always have so much fun. They have face painting, crafts, even a jazz band this year. Preston and Paige both loved the parade and the fireworks of course were wonderful. For Preston, all he saw was the inside of his eyelids. He fell asleep around 7:30 and didn't wait up until the next morning. As you can see from the last picture of Paige, she too was very tired on the car ride home.
