Hair Wrap

I decided to be adventuresome and try something new on Paige's hair. First she described what she wanted. She said, " I want a braid here, here, and here and then one back here and here." Which meant she wanted three braids in front and two in the back. I am thinking what in the world but I tried my best. I frenchbraided three sections in the front and brought them back into one ponytail and braided that. It actually looked really cute. I didn't want to worry about refixing it in the morning so we made her a hair wrap out of some panty hose. She loved it and couldn't stop smiling when she showed Geoff.

These boots are made for walking

The kids decided to play dress up with some of daddies shoes. Daddy loves shoes, I think more than I do. These are just one of the many pair of boots he has.

Dancing with the Guzman Family

On the first of vacation, we told the kids that we would like them to put on a show for us. We told them on Sunday and by Wednesday they were ready to perform. The kids danced their hearts out. There were solo dances and duets. Papa even danced with all of his granddaughters and twirled them around on his back, however I think he paid the price the next day. Here is the crew dancing to High School Musical and Camp Rock.

Waiting to be introduced by MC Maddy

They were freezing until the song started
Nick looks too cool to dance with the girls

Buried in the Sand

Daddy decided to bury Preston in the same sand pit that Uncle Davie and Ava were buried in.

Paige drew her name in the sand.

Paige's little feet

Here are some pics of our family vacation. We stayed in a 5 bedroom house with its own pool and hottub. Each family had their own bathroom which was very nice. Avon on Hatteras Island is not commeralized so we spent most of the time at the pool or on the beach, which was a short walk. The beach was awesome and the kids loved the huge waves. The kids were surprisely really good for the 14 hour trip down and back. On the way back we got stuck on the one lane road out of Avon for 2 hours b/c of an accident. Thank goodness that my brother and his family were near us to help keep the kids entertained.

Preston's 1st professional haircut

Looks good from the front
Oh, look at the back

Well, after cutting Preston hair myself, I decided to take him to Cookie Cutters for a professional cut before our vacation. Preston was fine sitting in the kid chair until she came at him with the cape. At that point, I became part of the process. I had to hold him. He was doing really good with the scissors however once he heard the clippers, he jumped, she nicked him, and it went down hill from there. He was screaming his head off and didn't want any part of it. She continued even when I told her that she was really messing his hair up. She ended cutting the back all the way to his skin. At that point, I knew Geoff was not going to be very happy with it. However I did warn him before he saw Preston. Geoff is the king of making up nicknames so he was known as the amish boy, a french man wearing a tupee, and a couple other things. It is finally growing in and have decided to take him to the barber shop next time.

Forgive Me

Sorry, it has been a month since I have made a post. Our lives have become so hectic. We got back for a family vacation to the Outerbanks, North Carolina with the Guzman side. Yes, that meant 8 adults and 9 kids. We all survived and had a wonderful time. Last weekend, we had my college friends and their families over for a cookout. That was very fun. We try to get together at least once a year. Now it's time for the kids birthday parties. I have finally convinced Geoff to have just one party for both kids. since their birthday's are 3 wks apart. There will be many more parties where they are separate. So I am busy planning a Mickey & Minnie Mouse party. The kids are keeping us busy. Paige just finished swimming lessons and wants to start cheerleading/gymnastics now. Preston is just a very active and curious little boy. They both keep us laughing all the time. I did however, pray to God this morning to give me more patience with Preston. I was in the kitchen and had just started the dishwasher when I had to go get something. I hear Paige yell "He's pushing the buttons and opening the door" So I go over to talk to him and of course his arms and legs become jello and he can't even stand up to look at me. I told him that he needs to look at me because I need to talk to him about what he is doing and when he finally turns his head, he has his eyes closed shut. It look everything for me to hold in my laughter and tell him to open his eyes. How at such a young age do they know to do that? At that moment, God told me to find humor in the moment.
